Answers for your Client:

“It’s an online, therapist-led program that helps you actually practice, not just talk about, the skills and habits that make real recovery possible—with structure, support, and accountability, every day.”

What This Program Is

  • “Return 2 Intimacy is an online Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) specifically designed for men struggling with sex or love addiction.

  • It runs for 3-6 consecutive months, outside of US work hours.
  • It’s not just a support group, and it’s not a replacement for therapy.

  • Think of it as a highly-structured, therapist-led program that bridges the gap between therapy and real, lasting change. It’s focused on helping you actually experience the things that most programs only talk about: connection, accountability, and learning how to handle shame and triggers in the moment.”

What You’ll Actually Do

  • “You’ll participate in live, therapist-led group sessions each week, online—no travel, no waiting rooms.

  • These groups aren’t just talk: you’ll practice real exercises that help you notice your own patterns, work with different parts of yourself (like the part that wants to act out, or the part that feels ashamed), and learn how to support others and let others support you.

  • Every day, you’ll check in through a secure online portal. There are short, guided activities to help you stay engaged—sometimes a quick self-check, sometimes a journal prompt, sometimes a structured practice.

  • You’ll have clear, actionable steps to take between sessions, and you’ll get feedback from both your group and the clinicians running the program.

  • There are also optional 1:1 sessions available for extra support, if you and your therapist decide that’s helpful.

”What Makes This Different (in Plain English)

  • “Unlike most programs, this isn’t about memorizing facts or just hearing information—you’ll practice new behaviors every single week.

  • The program is based on the latest science about trauma, attachment, and how people actually change.

  • You’ll learn, by experience, how to show up for yourself when you’re triggered or overwhelmed, and how to accept support instead of shutting down.

  • You won’t be on your own—there’s built-in accountability and a daily structure, but no shaming, and you get as much privacy as you need.”

Who Runs It / How Clinicians Are Involved

  • “The program is run by licensed therapists and addiction specialists, not just peer leaders.

  • Your current therapist (who recommended this program to you) will stay in the loop—receiving updates and collaborating on your progress, with your consent. I won’t disappear, and neither will your primary treatment.”

Tech & Logistics

  • “It’s all online—access it securely from your phone, tablet, or laptop.

  • No complicated apps or passwords. All the instructions are clear, and if there’s ever a tech hiccup, there’s support.”

What’s Expected of You

  • “You’ll be expected to show up to group, check in daily, and participate in the exercises.

  • No one’s going to chase you or shame you, but the program only works if you actually do the work.

  • It’s okay to have ups and downs—the program is built to help with that.”

What It’s Not

  • “This is not a crisis line, not a medical detox, and not a replacement for therapy.

  • It’s also not a program where you can just ‘hide out’ and hope things change by osmosis.

  • If you need higher or different care, they’ll help with referrals. If you need to step back to primary therapy, that’s always an option.”

Why I’m Recommending It

  • “The reason I’m suggesting this is that it actually addresses the real obstacles my clients run into after individual or group therapy: how to live what they’ve learned, day to day, with real support and structure.
  • I’ll stay involved as much as you (and I) think is helpful, and you’ll always have a clinical team available.”
